palm????? PDA?????????

hey i relle like palm i want a pda i want a high end one. is there highest end one the tx worth it or will there be better ones coming out soon? or is there a better PDA brand

The last Palm unit I had was a Sony Clie TH55. I loved that unit, but it just couldn't meet my current requirements and needs. That is why I've gone towards a Windows Mobile device. It's much more robust in functionality than the Palm. Surprisingly, it's very stable (especially with WM6.1). I also think Palm is dead (stopped at OS 5.x). No further development from them except Centro (I think that's what it's called). But even that is nothing more than a repackaged OS 5.x (Garnet they called it). Even now, Palm is developing Smartphones running Windows Mobile.

I have never used a Blackberry and therefore cannot comment. Though I have heard it is a good overall device and stability is better than a Windows powered PDA.

Currently, I myself love the Dell Axim x51v. Too bad it's been discontinued. But demand for it hasn't diminished either. Even when it's discontinued, many users have said this it the best overall PDA ever made. The closest and current PDA that comes and slightly exceeds (not by much) its specs would be the HP211.

The Rise of Tablets… again… again… again… (and again…)

I partiality the idea the tablet form factor.  I like the suggestion of a device that I can interact with via a stylus or my finger, offering me all the functions of the manoeuvre that I happen to be holding.

I loved my Toshiba Portege 3500, exemplary with Windows XP Tablet Edition.  With its swivel out sift, allowing me to use it as a regular laptop, it was the best of both worlds…. except battery spark of life was shocking and the device felt quite heavy (1.3kg, I seem to recall) when held as in its pill form for any more than a few minutes at a time.  Other than that, I could see a bright unborn for these devices, even when others scoffed and told me that they’d never catch on.

Inevitably, the enjoyment-in went away and the Tablet PC was, once again, relegated to the category of almost-ran.

Before that, my pleasure of stylus driven devices was in the form of PDAs such as the Psion 5 (still amongst my best-liked devices), my Toshiba e570 Windows CE PDA, my Palm III (which I still have somewhere) and a couple of other models that I can’t altogether recall.
