Officials probing fire at karaoke, DJ supply shop

Lancaster fire Capt. Jack Mattlin said he does not have an approximation on damages to the business, Judy's Karaoke, DJ and Supplies, at 429 N. Columbus St., in Lancaster.

No one was gravely injured in the fire, although owner Judy Canale was treated at the part.

Both Canale and her son, Jeremy Curll, were in the business when the fire broke out around 4 p.m.

"I was back in another area playing my video game and I smelled something funny," said Curll, 21. "I saw smoke in the other office and I started screaming, 'Mom, Mom, there's a fire!'"

Curll said he then picked up his dog, ran face and called 911 from his cell phone.

Curll said he recalls his mamma lighting a candle earlier in the day, but he doesn't know if that was what caused the fire.

Lancaster regional Kaaren Burke was riding her bicycle down Columbus High road when she said she saw flames and stopped. She said at first she thought it was the congress behind the business that was on fire.
