Gardens and woodlands are a inception of great beauty and wonder and occasionally hazards.
One of the less delightful episodes that about 85 percent of us experience in our lives is that unholy trinity of taint ivy, poison oak and poison sumac, or at least in terms of our local unfavorite, a exceptional trinity of ''leaves of three, let it be'' relative to poison ivy ( Toxicodendron radicans .)
I recently have noticed as summer has progressed that murder ivy is torturing some of my friends and relatives with rashes, itches and blisters, and so I was strange when fellow plant lover Dan Herms mentioned that he recently had conclude from a great 80-page book on poison ivy and its relatives.
The ticket is by Susan Carol Hauser and is titled Field Master to Poison Ivy, Poison Oak and Poison Sumac: Prevention and Remedies, published by FalconGuides.
The reserve is indeed excellent. It contains both practical advice and interesting stories from taint ivy sufferers of yore. It explodes myths and details the (small) treatment options. Here is just a taste.
