Apple Adds Antiglare Option for Some MacBook Pros

To professionals locked in (or in view of lock-in) to the Mac hardware and software, this is HUGE news! Those of us who must exertion with computers (looking at screens for 5-12 hrs a day) demand the matte choice for reduced eye strain. The brain has to concentrate harder and exertion the eye muscles harder to avoid the reflected image and make the image on the screen. Over time, this will leave your mind and viscosity exhausted. This is the kind of factor that Apple is usually credited for fascinating seriously in the design of their products. Other reasons for preferring matte screens are valid, but most professionals who toil on computers all day demand anti-glare … its an ergonomic sine qua non (I hear its even demanded by employment law in some European countries). Also as a prompt, the high resolution screen of the 17” MBP renders reader too tiny for all-day work in most applications (including web browsers); and all the zooming and changing of font sizes required on the 17” MBP is more than a lass inconvenience, often not possible for some menus, and the results are sometimes unsatisfactory even after all the stir and bother. This news means I can stay with Apple for now. Anti-scowl should be default on ALL professional products, including external monitors. It is the sensibly thing to do regardless of how the market responds. But over time the buy will respond positively to doing the right thing.
